Groove Scenario proudly presents The Egyptian Lover. Established as a foundational figure in LA’s early-80s electro/hip-hop scene, famed for his pioneering use of the Roland TR-808, The Egyptian Lover brings a dynamic live set to Minneapolis. Known for landmark singles “Egypt, Egypt” and “I Need a Freak” He’s a producer/DJ/MC whose records helped define West Coast electro.

Joining him we have Oakland’s Bukue One (Tion Torrence) who is a skate-inflected rapper/MC and DJ whose work blends left-field hip-hop lyricism with strong DIY and skate-culture aesthetics; active across live shows, skate spaces and underground scenes. Bukue has collaborated with countless artists, including Del The Funky Homosapien, The Artifacts, and Sadat X.

Also serving as direct support to the headlining performance, we have DJ King Otto who is known for an encyclopedic 45s collection.

This event is co-sponsored by Groove Scenario, Wax World, and the St. Paul Space Program
